Shale rock stream

Shale rock stream , originally uploaded by noelleW.

This photo was taken on Lynn’s uncles farm. The stream running through the property was low, and the underlying rock in the bed of the stream appeared to be shale or slate. This section was particularly low, and the light on it gave me a great capture of texture!

You can’t really see the rock below, but it is the dark part, and it alone was not on the surface, but it created these unusual ripple patterns! It was amazing and a great addition to my texture collection.

  1. You know how I feel about this one. I am not usually a big fan of abstract shots, but this one “rocks”. The light and texture are wonderful. It is great as a stand alone photo or a wonderful texture layer for pumping up another photo.

  2. Oh Noelle….this is awesome. I love the sun shining through the whole picture. Very beautiful.
