Photo Walk with my Photography Students at the Dogwood Arts Festival 2014, Knoxville TN

This past weekend I met two of my Photography students for a photo walk on Market Square at the Dogwood Arts Festival Art Fair.  We met up at my one of my favorite coffee shops Coffee and Chocolate, where there was a band entertaining the crowd and the Cruze Farm truck parked outside.  Caroline and Nate started capturing some images at the information booth where the flowers were available for purchase, I took some images of them in action.  These two are really excited about photography and since we are all Nikon users, they were able to try out some of my lenses and capture some macro images throughout the day.

It was nice to visit with some of my favorite vendors and to see all the new ones that had come for this event.  I had asked the kids to be sure to ask if they could take photos when they went up to the vendor booths and all but one of them were perfectly happy to allow them to do so.  Both of the kids had a blast and we wound up staying a lot longer than we all anticipated.  Luckily the parents and grandparents were happy to enjoy the festival and let us enjoy the day.  Here are some pictures from the day.

We got to stop by and see some of Marble City Glassworks new pieces.

And there were some pageant ladies with their crowns handing out goodies to eat everywhere.  This young lady was in the running for Miss Pre-Teen Tennessee.

Then Nate wanted me to take a close up of his eye….so of course, why not!  🙂

We took a break to grab some Rita’s ice!

Then we headed back through the square after I showed them Earth to Old City and captured some of the awesome lights that I someday will have a place to put up!

Then we headed down to the old city to stop at Remedy Coffee, for my favorite drink a Hazelnut latte.

Then I made sure to capture a few more images before we headed back to meet their parents and grandparents.

Of course a silly one first this was on our way to Remedy.

It was a great day to enjoy the Dogwood Arts festival and we all had a great time!  I look forward to doing another photo walk with these two again!  Teaching is such a joy especially when you have students that are eager to learn.
