My friend Nola and her daughter’s dogs came for a shoot here at the studio. The dogs are Dapple Dachshunds and their names are Gray and Charlie.
Gray is the younger of the two and being the age of — is still considered a puppy. And with puppies it is expected to have high levels of energy however not what I had expected under the circumstances. Gray, two days prior to the shoot, had broken two bones in his paw by jumping on the bed and bounced off ending with a rough landing. He has been in doggy bed rest since the situation and was put on two different medications for the injury. Considering that had happened to the poor, little guy a calm evening was expected….
A broken paw couldn’t stop this dog from running wild, jumping on things, and getting into everything. It was as if a toddler was kept still for a week and the energy exploded out all at once. Chasing the dogs was not helping because it would cause more trouble but Nola’s daughter saved the day with her smart idea. Peanut butter is key to a dog’s heart and their attention span. The majority of the pictures were of the dogs sticking their tongue out, but that’s alright because it adds personality!
Here is a favorite of the both of them towards the end of the shoot.
