My friend Nola and her daughter’s dogs came for a shoot here at the studio. The dogs are Dapple Dachshunds and their names are Gray and Charlie.
Gray is the younger of the two and being the age of — is still considered a puppy. And with puppies it is expected to have high levels of energy however not what I had expected under the circumstances. Gray, two days prior to the shoot, had broken two bones in his paw by jumping on the bed and bounced off ending with a rough landing. He has been in doggy bed rest since the situation and was put on two different medications for the injury. Considering that had happened to the poor, little guy a calm evening was expected….
A broken paw couldn’t stop this dog from running wild, jumping on things, and getting into everything. It was as if a toddler was kept still for a week and the energy exploded out all at once. Chasing the dogs was not helping because it would cause more trouble but Nola’s daughter saved the day with her smart idea. Peanut butter is key to a dog’s heart and their attention span. The majority of the pictures were of the dogs sticking their tongue out, but that’s alright because it adds personality!
Here is a favorite of the both of them towards the end of the shoot.

It was such an honor to be contacted by Debbie in regards to her son Garrett’s senior portraits. Debbie was good friends with one of my past clients Kathy and she had loved the work I had done with Kathy’s son Cameron. The best compliment I can be paid is when my clients are thrilled with their experience and refer me to wonderful people. And now I have a new wonderful client and friend in Debbie.
Debbie and I met to talk about Garrett session, where we wanted to capture the images, what he was into, clothing and anything else we might want to consider for his session. I have to tell you Garrett’s super cool because his mom went shopping for him and she bought him the coolest boots, jeans and shirts. I was a little jealous of those boots!
We started out Garrett session in the old city in downtown Knoxville and then we worked our way towards worlds fair Park. We captured a bunch of amazing images all along the way.
Last year most of my sessions I had to break up into two because my broken wrist was still healing. We had to do that with Garrett as well, so I went to his home to capture some images of Garrett a few days later. Garrett is headed out west for college as he wants to be a computer programmer and Debbie wanted to make sure we captured some of him working at his station at home. I’m sure this set up will be small potatoes to the number of screens he will be using in the not so distance future.
We also got to capture some images of him and his best buddy Rosie, his dog. She was such a beautiful dog and she’s a little older now so it was really neat to capture these pictures as this is been Garrett’s dog for quite some time. Thank you Debbie for the privilege of letting me capture your son’s images and getting to know you and your family. It’s been a lot of fun!

What fun we had at Noelle Bell Photography’s studio capturing Jasper’s pet portraits! Talk about an energetic dog who did not want to sit on the furniture but was happy to play most of the time. In the end, it was a very successful session and we captured some amazing images, but Jasper sure gave all of us a workout! His owners included. Here’s one of my favorite images of him on the vintage couch.
Jasper’s owners taught him a really cool trick. When they say “Stick ’em up” with their fingers pointed at him like a gun, this is what he does.
I was so excited to be able to capture portraits of their rescue dog, Jasper, who is a Pyrenees Aussie mix for the express reason of submitting images to New Spirit 4 Aussie Rescue, Inc. for their New Spirit 4 Aussie Rescue 2016 Calendar. Please feel free to click on the link above and get a calendar for yourself as I won’t tell you which month, but Jasper has been featured in this calendar.
Here’s one more image from the session at the studio at Noelle Bell Photography. This was the owner’s favorite image from the session. They said that this pose captured Jasper’s personality perfectly.
I’m looking forward to capturing some outdoor fall portraits of Jasper next month.
