Back from vacation!

My husband and I just took a quick little holiday to get away from the world and celebrate 4 years of marriage this year.  We wound up going to Hilton Head, SC and Savannah, GA for a three day getaway.  We had a wonderful time, and when we recalled our favorite time/memory from the trip, we both had the same answer, the late night moonlight walk on the beach in Hilton Head.

And our second favorite part of the trip was the visit the same beach again in the morning after 5 hours of sleep and breakfast to see the sunrise!  It was definitely a time to stay close and cuddle, but totally worth it!

More images from the trip will come later, but I’m working hard on edits for my clients, so posts of them will come next!

So if you haven’t gotten up early to watch a sunrise with your special someone, make a plan and do it!  You won’t regret the memory you will make.

Chattanooga Aquarium weekend

Last weekend my parents came in town for a visit!  It was a nice long 4 day weekend with them and what fun we had!  Both my mother and my father have birthday’s in July, and the Quilt show in town happened to coincide with the weekend of her birthday so we made it a fun one!  They arrived on Wednesday night in Sevierville to stay at the Blue Mountain Mist Bed and Breakfast that they stayed at when they came for our wedding almost 2 years ago.  They arrived and realized that they had left all of their hanging clothes at home in VA, so mom got to do her absolute favorite thing (NOT!!!) and go shopping for a few new “outfits”.  Luckily they had the Tanger Outlets just a few miles away and they were able to take the back roads to get to it, so it was an easy trip and they found everything on sale and fairly quickly, so mom was happy!

The next day they came to Knoxville and spent the morning at the convention center where the quilt show was going on!  They ran into three people from Lynchburg, VA – where they live – too funny.  They explored the Knoxville Museum of Art and enjoyed all the exhibits.  Dad even found some of the pictures that were in the exhibit in this months Rangefinder magazine.

That night they arrived for dinner and we had a good time catching up.  The next morning we got up early to head to the Chattanooga Aquarium where we had so much fun.  My mom loves to go to Aquariums and today was her birthday, so it was a great way to celebrate.  Here are some of the pictures I captured while there at the aquarium.

These first two were in the first part of the aquarium where the stingrays can be found.

This African Gray Parrot was just finishing up his demonstration.  I caught him looking at me.

I wasn’t tall enough to get a reflection shot, but I like this shot.  You can’t quite tell if he’s asleep or not!

This one came out great!!  Love his eye just staring at me.

Later in the day after lunch and the second building at the aquarium we headed up to Point Park on Lookout Mountain so that Lynn could show it to my dad.  Mom and I stayed out of the heat and let the guys enjoy the history.  It was very hot and humid that day so the view was not very clear, but I did get a few pictures of the birthday girl and the soon to be birthday boy!

Here’s mom pointing out Point Park, in her new outfit which you can’t see mostly!

And here’s dad, a good picture of my father who is proudly sporting his Habitat for Humanity hat!

The rest of the visit was wonderful!  We had watermelon, sweet corn, and Tilapia for dinner and afterwards we walked down to Brusters for dessert!!  What a fun birthday it was!!  So glad it could be so.

We had a relaxing Saturday doing different things and then off to dinner at Lakeside Tavern for dinner (my favorite restaurant!).  Sunday morning they came to Fellowship for church and they loved the sermon.  Mom and Dad are looking forward to being able to listen to the second half of it via the internet this Sunday.

It was such a lovely visit with them both and I can’t wait to do it again!!

Until next time…

The old gang reunites!!

It has been a year since we have seen each other all together in one place, that is my old singles group from Lynchburg, VA – Rivermont Pres.  We have managed to stay connected even though some have married and some have moved away, we seem to always make it back together to catch up and hang out!  This time we were together to celebrate the wedding of Stephen and Brianne Bell.  I have fond memories of the times we spent at the Bell’s house watching movies and having deep discussions, my parents house playing games, my townhouse having bible study, and the Brown’s house where we had many bonfires!!  Oh the years have passed on by and some have come and gone, but there is a core that remains of our group!  Tim and John – the infamous Brown brothers!  Steve-O,  Heather, Joy, Rachel and myself.  So many changes have taken place so here is a bit of the story.

Rachel left first and moved away to the DC area, but always came back in to visit as she had family in the area.  I still have a picture of us outside a restaurant after lunch one Sunday.

Rachel married Joey and soon they had a little Joey to add to the group.  A few years later I tied the knot to my sweetheart Grady Lynn and became a Bell myself.  Just a week ago Steve tied the knot with his lady to add another number to our group!

Now wait, there is more!!  Tim just got engaged to his lovely lady Allison and they will be tying the knot in October (another reunion I hope!).

Not to top that news, but to add to our numbers, Rachel is pregnant with her second little one and I can’t wait to find out if it will be a boy or a girl!   Little Joey himself is a ham and a handful!

One other thing, we finally got to meet Heather’s boyfriend Mark!!  🙂  Such a nice guy.  We hope to get to know you more next time Mark, but it was fun the short time that we had with you.

So this is our story and this is the gang.  I am very thankful for some wonderful friends that stayed in touch through the years.  So many friends drift away in time, but not you guys!!  Let’s keep this old gang together!!  Can’t wait to see you all again!

Duarte Family

Duarte Family, originally uploaded by Noelle Bell Photography.

This is a great family picture of Matt and Miriam Duarte, our good friends who stayed with us in Black Mountain, NC. They have a 3 month old little son Henry who was the subject of many of my photos this past weekend. This is one of my favorite shots of the family pictures that I took of them.

This post is dedicated to our dear friends Matt and Miriam Duarte to whom we were able to spend a few days with in Black Mountain, NC this past weekend.  They have a brand new baby boy, only 11 weeks at the time of our visit, whom I had so much fun taking pictures of.  I only wish we had better light to play with.  There will be more to come later, but I wanted to post a favorite picture with three different processes.  Let me know which one is your favorite and why!  I love all of them for different reasons!

Here are some pictures that show how we celebrated our 3 month anniversary of marriage at the Biltmore. While I was reading the historical notes about the Biltmore listed on the playing cards we had just bought, since my husband loves historical facts, my husband stopped me and asked if I wanted to take any pictures as we were passing a beautiful pond leaving the property. He knows I love to take pictures and was excited to try using my camera on manual this day, so as you can see, we mutually shared with each other, the little things that they enjoyed!!

It was a good weekend and bonus, we got our hotel room bumped up to a King bed at no additional charge! 🙂
